Under 7's & 10's Adventure to the Costa-Del-Sol!

Mossley Hill has arrived in Spain! All the players have now arrived and are enjoying the heat as the sun beats down in what is the hottest week in Spain so far this year! Everybody is settling into the hotel 'El Cortijo Blanco' in San Pedro de Alcantara. Check out the photos:
DAY 1
Day one was spent on-site at the hotel. All the Under 10's had arrived in the middle of the night while the Under 7's were turning up at various times during the day. The players enjoyed the swimming pool and couldn't resist taking to the football pitch to practice before the tournaments on Tuesday. Later in the afternoon the AFA Marbella Under 9's visited the hotel and played a friendly game with the Mossley Hill Under 10's. Everybody had a great time and it has got people in the mood for the matches ahead. Check out the photos:
Day two and everybody is enjoying the hottest day of the year so far with temperatures not far from 30 degrees! The players and parents relax by the pool and there's obviously football going on down at the football pitch! At 4pm it's all go though as everybody collects themselves together and heads off to Arroyo in Marbella for the first organised football of the tour. The Under 7's play against Pablo Picasso Under 8's and record an excellent win before running out of steam against AFA Marbella Under 8's and losing despite trying their very best. With the temperatures so high and having been swimming/playing football all day at the hotel, the players are exhausted and perform remarkably well really.
And later still there was time for the Under 7's dads to take on the Under 10's dads in quite a match! After Scott's dad had given the Under 7's and early lead, experience???? paid off and the Under 10's dads came back to win 3-1. One or two dads needed medical attention to recover from the experience, yes you Dean, but everybody enjoyed it, really!
DAY 2
CHAMPIONS!
The Under 10's play in a mini-tournament entitled 'MINI-TORNEOS DE SEMANA SANTA DE PABLO PICASSO'. After having a nightmore finding the ground with taxi-drivers taking the party to the wrong venue! the team complete a short warm-up before playing hosts AFA Marbella U9/10's. A goal in the first minute settled the nerves and another late strike sealed a 2-0 win. Co-hosts Pablo Picasso were the next victims. In a very competitive game it took the boys a while to open the scoring but once that first goal went in, the passing and moving improved and the boys ran out 4-1 winners. The final game came against Las Chapas and the boys sealed their competition win with a comfortable victory.

DAY 3
Day three and everybody is exhausted from such a lot of football, swimming as well as some very late nights and what has been the hottest three days of the year in Spain so far! It's up early and off to play against UD San Pedro but nobody can get up! After an hour of trying, coach Steve W (who has no hair left by now!) finally manages to get together enough players to kick-off at the near-by San Pedro ground. With the weather superb again, a stand for the parents to sit in and such an excellent pitch, everybody enjoyed the occassion. Even more so when the 7's put in a marvellous performance to beat the San Pedro Under 8's! Check out the photos....
The Under 10's just about managed to get a side out a further hour later. San Pedro did more than a little cheating though with some rather big Under 10's turning out - some a good couple of years older than our boys. After going four goals down, the Mossley boys turned it around and grabbed a great 4-4 draw. The team did really well considering the fact that so many players were missing and the boys were really tired. Well Done to all.
Last day and everybody is well and truly shattered so a day at the hotel by the pool is in order! It's still scorching hot and everybody is enjoying the weather. No football! In the evening those who have energy go to the Irish bar for a bit of Karoeke before bed!
