Mossley Hill 2New Brighton 0 Cup 21/11/2009 Mossley started very brightly with a good tempo to the game, unfortunatley both strickers left the pitch with injuries.A Smart move saw a pass from Danny Yates headed home by Kevin Frankland to make it 1,0. Simon Ellison then finished off a great move to make it 2,0 the score remained the same till half time. Mossley Hill kept the pressure on in the second half and considering the conditions played some good football this was a deserved victory to put the team in the next round of the Cup. Mossley Hill 2 Grange Athletic 1 Lge A must win game which the team dominated for long periods with out taking adavantage Callum opened the scoring with crost which dropped in to the net Macca doubled the score to make it 2,0 with a great header.H.T.2,0. In the 2nd half Mossley dominated and a goal keeping error kept Grange in with a chance. lots of chances went begging but we could not put the game safe, we need to ensure when chances come along they are taken and we eliminate mistakes. MOTM Yousef Mossley Hill 1 Mallaby 1 Lge Mossley Hill played with plenty of energy and desire which was needed to break down a well organised Mallaby team who were always dangerous from set plays.The first half saw plenty of Mossley Hill pressure but could not return a goal for all the effort. H.T. 0,0. The second half was much the same with 20 mins left Kevin Frankland went on the left wing and Mike Forshaw moved up front.Kevin got down the wing and put a great cross in for Barry to rise at the far post with a great header. Mossley Hill deserved this victory but as always full credit goes to Mallaby who never stopped working. MOTM David Pownal Mossley Hill 3 Ashville 2 Lge Mossley Hill started the game really well and had Ashville on the back foot for most of the half. Ashville looked good on the break and against the run of play a ball we appeared to have difficulty clearing ended up in the back of the net. H.T. 0,1. We continued to play well and a ball played in to the feet of Kevin F saw him brought down for a penalty Neil McCarthy depatched the ball to make it 1,1.Mossley then played some excellent football with Kevin on hand in the box to tap home to give Mossley the lead. A long ball from David P saw Barry Coventry pinch the ball round the keeper to make it 3,1. Ashville to their credit never stopped and scored with a couple of minutes left. A deserved victory with everyone working together. MOTM Mike Forshaw Mossley Hill 4 AFC Bebbington 1 Lge Mossley Started the brighter of the 2 sides and dominated for the first 20 mins.A passage of play saw Yousef through on goal to make it 1,0.A miss placed pass gave AFC the chance to break and a clinical finish made it 1,1. AFC then had their best spell of the game,Mossley started to settle again and create chances.H.T. 1,1. The second half was dominated by Mossley with some great play, the goal keeper spilled a ball from which Yousef scored to make it 2,1., Kevin Frankland and Mike Forshaw made the game safe and we ran out worthy winners. MOTM Yousef Ashville 1 Mossley hill 2 Lge A game Mossley needed to win to ensure they get back on the right track,players coming back from injury gave the team a more solid look and the game flowed from the start. Mossley created several good chances but failed to turn their pressure in to goals.Ashville took the lead when a goal keeping error allowed them the chance to get their noses in front. Mossley then scored a great goal with some brilliant inter play betwenn Dave P and Benn which was finished off by Mike Forshaw.H.T. 1,1. The second half saw several chances go begging and a goal dissalowed for off side.Callum then found himself in the box form a good through ball and finished well to make it 2,1. a result the team deserved. MOTM Benn Carson Magull Res 0 Mossley Hill 0 Lge 01/09/09 A game which saw an already depleated Mossley Hill Squad due to injury go to Magull and dig out a deserved draw. Graham made a fine save in the first half to keep the scores level and kept another clean sheet.Simon was unlucky not to finish off a great move hitting the post. Both teams had chances but a draw was a fair reult. MOTM David Byrnne Hewswall 0 Mossley Hill 0 lge 28 th Aug Mossley Hill dominated the game for long periods but could not convert any of their chances. After all their pressure Heswall could have pinched the game and only a goal line clearance from Neil Mac kept the spoils even. MOTM David Byrnne Mossley Hill 1 Marshalls 3 Lge 24/08/09 In a game were it was always going to be tight, we could not afford any mistakes, after 3 minutes a penalty was awarded this gave the opposition something to defend and started to time waste from that point.We then gifted them a second with Marshalls 2 up and relying on a long ball game which was very effective, Mossley had several chances to score but the G/Keeper made some excellent saves. H.T. 2.0. Mossley were awarded a penalty and created most of the chances in a one sided second half, another error gave Marshalls the chance to break and was finished very well indeed this made the game safe for Marshalls who's style of play will certainainly cause lots of teams problems this season.There is a long way to go in the championship and this is a wake up call to Mossley Hill and will certainly give our Local rivals a lift. Mossley Hill 3 West Kirby Res 0 Lge 21/08/09 Mossley Hill dominated this game for very long periods and should have been well ahead by half time, all we had to show for all our efforts was an own goal. H.T. 1.0. Mossley continued to play some great football and cut open the oppositions defence time and time again.The score line at 3,0. with goals from Ben Smythe and Callum gave a more realistic feel to it. MOTM Phill Frankland Mossley Hill 2 Southport Trinity 1 Lge 17/08/09 A game were the 2 teams had started with a win and looked in good form. Mossley started very quickly and dominated form the start, the Quality of the football was not rewarded by a goal, until Danny Yates hit a thunderous left foot shot in to the top left hand corner of the net from 28yds out. Callum then had a sharp turn and finish to make it 2,0. at H.T. The second half saw Mossley create several chances to score but against the run of play a fee kick caught our defense out to make the game more difficult than needed to be. Mossley were looking tired towards the end of the game, after 2 matches in 3 days but ran out worthy winners.A good game between 2 god footballing sides. MOTM Perry Grange Athletic 3 Mossley Hill 6 Lge 15/08/09 A great start to the season with Mossley dominating the early part of the game, creating several good chances to take the lead.A defensive mistake gave Perry the opportunity to score at the far post.Grange kept playing the long ball plus a very dangerous throw in kept our defense on their toes.Before half time a crossfield ball to the far post caught our defense out to level the scores.H.T 1,1. Mossley then went in to overdrive scoring some sensational goals,Chris Metcalf scored with a sharp shot from the edge of the box, another defensive error allowed Grange to equalise.Kevin Frankland then scored to make it 3,2. Neil Mac scored with a great haeder at the far post, Kevin the added a second to make it 5,2. Grange then scored a great free kick from 25 yds, Yousef then came off the bench to make the game same.
