SEASON REVIEW 2013/14
We played 3 games this month with the 1st of these against Tranmere to say it was a poor start was an under statement.
We were blown away with a score line of 8-1. There were plenty of possitives that came from the game and we took them into the next 2 games winning both of them. Our 1st win came courtesy of Woolton who wee beat 5-4. This game give us some beleif. The third game also produced a 4-2 win against Brazil. September wasnt as bad as what we thought it would have been at the start of the season
the start of this month did not go to well our 4th game was agains Liverpool Feds who we lost too 5-1. W e knew we had the ability to bounce back and that is what we done we go into our 5th game with 2 wins and 2 losses. Game No 5 was against our under 13's team. This game was a close one and the score line didnt do it justice, we that game won 4-2. Confidence was back up again. We won our 6th game against St Annes 5-2. this was the 1st of 2 games with St Annes within a week.
Didnt start too well we played St Annes. But we just didnt turn up we were beaten 6-3 this time around (but what did we expect it was a new month after all). Our next game was to be against Tranmere, This was better than our previous game but yet we still lost it 6-2. Woolton were next where we done the double over them winning this 4-3. next up was Brazil who had something to prove, and they did we were beaten 5-2 by a stronger team.
We seen only 1 game during this month, We played our U13's and to be fair the result was a tough result but fair. This was to be our 1st draw of the season with it finishing 3-3
This month seen our final game in the league it was a game we had to win to keep our possition in the table. but the game couldnt have been any harder. Well atleast i thought. The final game was against Liverpool Feds who were up in 1st Place at the time of the fixture. We seen these of with a brilliant win 3-1, it was by far the best and most rewarding game of the season.
The league Standings were
1 TRANMERE 27pts
2 LIVERPOOL FEDS 25pts
3 MOSSLEY HILL 14s 19pts
4 ST ANNES 14pts
5 MOSSLEY HILL 13s 14pts
6 BRAZIL 12pts
7 WOOLTON GIRLS 3pts
Between the end of the season to the end of April we have been playing Friendlys
3rd of May
We played in a round robin mini league. Against Mossley Hill U15's and Marine U15's it was a step up in age group and a taster of what to expect next season. Our girls done fantasticaly well, to say the least. the tournament consisted of playing each other twice in a 15 min match. the following are the games we played and results
Mossley Hill U15's 2-0 (won)
Marrine U15's 0-0 (draw)
Mossley Hill U15's 1-0 (lost)
Marrine U15's 3-1 (won)
We finished Joint 1st with our U15's but we did have better goal difference
That took us to a penalty shoot out where we lost 3-2 ...
The girls now have a taste of what is to come, lets take what we have learnt over the last 8 months and take it into next season.
We entered into the LCFA FUTSAL competion held at Wavertree tennis Centre. We played 5 games and came finished the tournament in 2nd possition just missing out on a place in the regional play off's.
We have been invited to take part in the Liverpool Knowsley Cup where we will be playing the following teams •Maryland Rush (USA) •Mossley Hill (Liverpool, England) •Birkdale United (Southport, England) •Woolton Girls (Liverpool, England)
•St Annes Rovers Girls FC (Liverpool, England) also entries from one Scottish team and one other English team who are hoping to attend

2014/2015 FIXTURES AND RESULTS
Well what can I say. First game over with now. Mossley 7 woolton 3
What a great way to start a season off. Not only did we have attackers on the pitch we had attacking midfielders and even attacking defenders. Altho when we attacked from the back we did get caught out once or twice but with the covering defenders we managed to get back and sort out. There was great passing and also movement, the was even a lot of hold up play where we could get the ball and see what was ahead of us. Great 1-2 touches confidence was high and out came the show boating. Shot's corners free kicks where spot on at one point I asked our keep to kick towards goal maybe do a Tim Howard and bag a goal.... all in a great game to watch and this will be the game that we compare forthcoming game to....this weeks player of the match was Hannah Chorley
20/09/14 Brazil 15's
Well sorry to say this week was a tough one. Beaten by 6-1 hard lesson today. Tired players who give it there all. Cought out everytime with a long ball over the top for them to cut open the defences. Couple of tough challenges today with Rachel being pushed to the floor and injuring her arm. A high foot causing Amy to be kicked in the face. Olivia pulled a hamstring but soldiered on and Alina pulling a quad had to be rested. Millie had a great game making some really good saves. Lack of shots kept us out of the game. We can take possitives out of the game rachels great display earned her this weeks player of the match. Lets put this one behind and move on stronger for it .....next game sees a tough fixture against Brazil 16's.. This weeks player of the match was Rachel Tobin
27/09/14 Brazil U16's
Great game today. Beaten 4-3 we atleast deserved a draw with a freak goal that won the game. I thought the ref was outstanding in the 2nd half (me)..great performances all round brave and silly defending lead to a brazil penalty fortunately they hit it wide of the post. Grace hit the back of the net kicking of her goal scoring tally after telling me she could score for her school but not the club, it was easy in the end. Unselfish play could have seen more goals in my eyes. Defensivly good but did struggle with the pace of their attackers. Midfield played well up the wings linking up play with centre midfields. Attackers where issolated at times by there 1 strong defender. Todays Goal keeper (Olivia) had an outstanding game saving some crucial shots and even an assist in a Goal. we did however leave gaps in the centre of the park leaving exposed defenders..... all in all a good game and good performance against a team 1year older. Well done girls.. This weeks player of the match was Olivia Ellinson
3-2 win. We came back strong from an early goal for Irby it took a while to get a grip of the game but it was a Great performance today by all the girls especially on the right hand wing. Link up play was by far the best this season. I would say 70% of the play was in the oppositions half with great attacking and and lots of effort. It's great to see the team enjoy playing and once we took the lead that is what we done. Free flowing football and getting balls in and around the area and it was only a matter of time before we went ahead. It makes my job harder as a manager to decide who I can bring off so that subs get a game. But that's not such a bad thing I suppose. Player of the match today was Katie Sloan for her hard work up and down the right and even challenging girls twice the size and getting the better of them. Well done all the girls today ....
This game was brought forward. Good strong performance today from the girls. Good positive attacking play with passing and movement. Solid performance from or 3 defenders who also attacked when they were able too and great covering from midfield when they done so. Even tho it was 10-2 win we still had to try hard and attack at every opportunity. Our keeper (Millie) was outstanding again and commanded her space really well. Few words exchanged on the pitch between some but was soon sorted out. Our confidence seems to be really high at the moment so let's take that to the next game and keep pushing the few teams above us. WELL DONE GIRLS .....
MORE UPDATES COMING SHORTLY ......
